One billion UAH for the purchase of FPV drones through the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace: 10 Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades will participate in the pilot program

The first 10 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will participate in the pilot launch of the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace. For this purpose, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has allocated one billion UAH to the Defence Procurement Agency. The brigades will be able to use these funds exclusively to order drones through the IT system.

“DOT-Chain Defence is a fundamentally new approach to equipping the army. We are creating a system where each unit independently selects the weapons it needs, and deliveries take weeks instead of months. It is a transparent and digital model that makes military logistics flexible, fast, and modern. We are building an ecosystem in which the government, manufacturers, and the military work as a single team for the sake of victory,” stated Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

How it will work:

The military

  • selects the necessary equipment within the budget;
  • orders available weapons and places preliminary orders for batches that have not yet been manufactured;
  • leaves reviews, ratings, and submits service requests.

Manufacturers and suppliers

  • place their products on the marketplace;
  • update information on the availability and manufacturing times of drones;
  • deliver drones directly to the military.

The Defence Procurement Agency (DPA)

  • collects orders from the military, pays for and controls the supply process;
  • analyzes feedback from the military on the quality of weapons and service;
  • monitors the content and relevance of the marketplace.

“The launch of DOT-Chain Defence is part of the changes being implemented by the DOT and the DPA to supply the Armed Forces with drones—and in the future, with other types of weaponry as well. We are strengthening the role of the military, giving them the opportunity to choose what they receive. And we are making this process as simple and convenient as possible for every defender,” said Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency.

More than 80 drone manufacturers have submitted their commercial proposals to participate in DOT-Chain Defence, offering over 400 types of UAVs. Initially, drones from 15 companies will be available on the marketplace—with most manufacturers to be onboarded within the next few weeks. The full integration of all suppliers is expected within the coming month.

DOT-Chain Defence was developed with the support of the BRDO Office for Effective Regulation.

The system will also be integrated with the Army+ application for military personnel, enabling rapid processing of requests for drone support and maintenance. All such requests will be sent directly to the manufacturer and will serve as a basis for analysis and improvement of battlefield solutions.
