The Defense Procurement Agency’s team conducted the meeting with the delegation from the Italian Agenzia Industrie Difesa (AID) headed by Fiammetta Salmoni.

The parties discussed coordination mechanisms related to the supply of air defense systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They also considered possible ways to utilize frozen Russian assets for procuring weapons for Ukraine, using the "Danish model" framework, which provides high transparency for partners.

Robust communication channels between Ukraine and key NATO allies allow for swift knowledge exchange about current procurement strategies. This contributes to improved efficiency, specifically by aligning procurement algorithms with NATO standards.

This meeting builds upon the memorandum of cooperation signed with the AID earlier this year. Similar memoranda and agreements have been concluded with six more NATO countries’ defense procurement bodies.

Strengthening European defense partnerships remains a critical effort to enhance both Ukrainian battlefield capabilities and overall European security.
