The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense has signed more than 20 direct contracts with global arms manufacturers.

In 2024, the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed more than 20 direct contracts with the world's leading arms manufacturers. Procurement covers both ammunition and modern weapons and military equipment for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Today, Ukrainian manufacturers account for 70 per cent of the total arms procurement contracts. However, it is equally important for us to diversify our supply routes and provide the Armed Forces with the necessary weapons that cannot be purchased in Ukraine. So now the Ministry of Defense is actively working in foreign markets, and the key focus here is direct contracting with manufacturers. This is what allows us to get the best prices, secure supplies and increase the combat capability of the Ukrainian army

said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov

Currently, the Defense Procurement Agency has direct contracts for the supply of weapons from ten countries.

It is critically important for us to have a reputation as a reliable and transparent arms procurer globally. And compared to last year, the share of direct contracts with manufacturers in the Defense Procurement Agency’s foreign economic contracts has tripled – from 20% to 60%. Of course, in the case of some countries, it is impossible to do without intermediaries, but these statistics show that we are on the right track
